Withdrawal of Manuscript
Authors are not permitted to withdraw manuscripts that have been submitted or published except in cases of extreme urgency, such as fatal errors, ethical violations, or legal issues. Withdrawing a manuscript is considered a waste of resources because editors and reviewers have devoted time and effort to the evaluation process, as have publishers.
To withdraw a manuscript, authors must follow the following procedure: (1) Complete the Manuscript Withdrawal Request Form signed by all authors or the corresponding author, accompanied by a detailed explanation of the reasons for withdrawal; (2) The editorial team will review the request and decide whether the reasons provided are acceptable; (3) Authors may only consider their manuscript withdrawn after receiving official confirmation from the JETI editorial board.
For unethical withdrawals (e.g., because the manuscript will be submitted to another journal), JETI imposes the following sanctions: a 12-month ban on submitting new manuscripts if the withdrawal occurs after the review process, or retraction with official notification if the manuscript has already been published. In extreme cases, the perpetrator will be placed on a blacklist, and the author’s institution will be notified.
The manuscript withdrawal request form can be obtained by contacting:
